Animology Exhibition at Saint Cloche, Paddington from 11 – 22 October 2017. This show drew on the common structural elements that recur in the body, in flora and fauna, and in nature at large. It focused on forms like pipes and organs, and the blood that flows in our veins, translating them, in full colour into new, quite playful, 'heartworks' and 'organisms.' Yes, very organic.
Coming up next week is Pret-a-Paws at Saint Cloche, 37 Macdonald Street, Paddington, with painters Tricia Trinder and Tyrone Lane – it's a celebration of the dog! A Walk in the Park, below, was the first dog I'd made, an incidental dog. But I do love dogs and have had lots of fun trying to capture dog character.
Black Line Boogie is coming up....
Ach! I'm running out of time. Painter/friend Mary van de Wiel and I are exhibiting together at Saint Cloche, 37 Macdonald Street Paddington, Sydney from August 11 to September 1.
The show, Black Line Boogie, is a celebration of line-work and mark-making. It's all black and white, and okay, a little bit of grey. Mary's paintings are on paper and canvas and my ceramics are functional or sculptural and maybe a few in-between.
Also coming up is HarbourSculpture, a big sculptural event on the waterfront at Clarke's Point Reserve and the Deckhouse, Woolwich, which opens on Thursday. There'll be over 100 sculptures including a couple of mine!
Love Letters and Letter Cups are available at Frances Keevil Gallery, 28-34 Cross Street, Double Bay, Sydney, which has lots of lovely things including paintings and works on paper by Adrian Lockhart.
